The Kansas City Plogtober Cleanup is a great way to get outdoors and get some exercise while engaging in a socially responsible activity that beautifies the streamside trails in your community!
Trash that ends up on the ground (including discarded PPE from the pandemic) ends up in our water systems– polluting ecosystems and killing vital organisms!
Plogtober 2023 will take place in October across dozens of parks around the Kansas City region. Sign ups are available NOW for our pre-arranged cleanup sites, or you can submit your own team (or fly solo) to pick up litter on your own block!
Did you miss out on your county’s group cleanup (see below)? Signup as a “virtual” plogger to pick your own date and location (must be before the point cutoff on October 31). Verify your points by snapping a photo with your trash haul and hashtagging #kcplogtober23 (or email to email@example.com for points).
Take precautions when cleaning up the great outdoors! In Missouri and Kansas, poisonous plants like Poison Ivy (below) can cause a harmful reaction when touched with bare skin. Use a grabber, poker or anything else to remove litter lodged among these kinds of plants.
