Plogtober

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2022

The Kansas City Plogtober Cleanup is a great way to get outdoors and get some exercise while engaging in a socially responsible activity that beautifies the streamside trails in your community!

Trash that ends up on the ground (including discarded PPE from the pandemic) ends up in our water systems– polluting ecosystems and killing vital organisms!

Plogtober 2022 will be on Sunday, October 16 across dozens of local parks (or one on your block!) Join a group clean-up team at one of our pre-selected sites, or request points for your home or work county by cleaning up problem litter areas nearby. The county with the highest volunteer count (each volunteer fills one bag), wins bragging rights of the Mid-America region’s Top Plogger!  Share your haul on social media for a chance at individual prizes too!

If the Survey Monkey sign-up form does not appear when you click the button, you can sign up here instead.

Be Safe!

Take precautions when cleaning up the great outdoors! In Missouri and Kansas, poisonous plants like Poison Ivy (below) can cause a harmful reaction when touched with bare skin. Use a grabber, poker or anything else to remove litter lodged among these kinds of plants. Remember “leaves of three, let it be…” Click below to find more hazardous wildlife you may encounter on nature trails:
